Floating Candle Ideas

Remember, wax floats. The key to a floating cande is simply to be wider at the top than at the bottom. This is why small muffin cups are perfect for molding floating candles.

Once you have an assortment of floating candles, all you need are containers, water, and imagination. Just mason jars with water and candles look elegant on their own. Or include raffia or ribbons, and these below have some clear glass pebbles in the bottom of the jars.

Now, let the imagination and fun begin!

A big, fresh flower turns any floating candle into something special.

Herbs and citrus fruits make lovely additions to the floating candle jar in the spring and summer. This example has fresh rosemary and cut lemons.

Rocks create a rustic or casual feel to the floating candle array.

The seashells create their own, unique feel perfect for a day or night on the beach.

And, of course, don't forget that floating candles make wonderful, inexpensive and ambient night time lighting!
